Teaching history is an absolute passion of mine.  My mission is to instill a love for learning history in each one of my students.  I try to teach with a passion for the past in the hopes my students will want to be

life-long learners of history. My motto for my classroom is:

 

Those who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it!

 

I am very thankful to be working here at Holland I.S.D. It is an awesome school which truly loves the students.  I will do everything I can to help student succeed daily in school.

 

Here is a little bit about me.  I am married to my wonderful husband of 25 years, Shane Downing.  Some of you might know him as the Elementary Principal here at Holland.  We have two children; a daughter, Ashtyn, who is a senior attending Tarleton State University, and a son, Drew, who is a sophomore also attending Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. We have lived in Holland for the past 14 years and we love our school, community, as well as, our church and are so blessed to be here.
